Gavin Body, General Manager, Operations


Gavin is responsible for all Crown House technologies UK operations. Gavin has been with the group since 2009 where he has undertaken various project and operational leadership roles. Most recently he was a project director in the Laing O'Rourke Buildings business, working on phase one of the Brighton Trauma, Tertiary & Training (3Ts) project for the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. 

With a background in engineering, Gavin has worked on major projects in multiple sectors, having been in the industry since 1999. He is a graduate of Guns 5, the Laing O’Rourke group leadership development programme and brings exceptional project delivery best practice and experience. 

Colin O'Brien, Operations Leader (South and Scotland)

Colin O'Brien

Colin is responsible for our Operations in the South and Scotland. He has worked for Laing O’Rourke for 15 years holding various leadership roles including, Project Leader on EPS3 Nuclear waste storage facility in Sellafield, Operations Leader in Scotland, as well as heading our specialist trading business CHt Enterprise Solutions. Prior to joining Laing O’Rourke in 2006 Colin led building services businesses in Scotland as Operations Director for the Brookfield Group and Regional Business Manager for the Co-operative Group (Syncro).

Shaun Higgins, Operations Leader

Shaun has operational responsibility for projects in the North of the UK, having been with Crown House technologies since 2008. Prior to this Shaun held a senior role in tier one Mechanical and Electrical contracting for over 15 years. He also has significant experience within the public and private sectors, including healthcare, education, retail, commercial, data centres, semiconductor and defence contracts. Projects include the retail development at Meadowhall Sheffield, Manchester Airport’s Transformation Programme and a number of complex healthcare schemes including St James Hospital in Leeds.


Martin is head of Laing O’Rourke’s MEP delivery and manufacturing business Crown House Technologies (CHt). A chartered civil engineer, Martin has worked on a range of healthcare, high-rise, commercial and residential construction projects, and led the people agenda at Laing O’Rourke for four years prior to his current role.

Martin is focused on enhancing Crown House Technologies’ position in the marketplace to be the recognised leader for major project MEP delivery, working for both LOR and external clients. The business is continually being strengthened with technical and operational talent to support this ambition
