CHt’s Andy Sneyd elected trade association president

Crown House Technologies’ head of design, Andy Sneyd, has been elected the 88th president of the Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES) for 2014/15.

The Building and Engineering Services Association, formerly the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association, was founded in 1904, and is the main UK trade association for companies that design, install, commission and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and related engineering projects

Andy is a chartered engineer and a fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) with a Master of Science degree in building services engineering, and has over 25 years’ experience of the sector.  He leads the design and engineering aspects of all M&E projects for CHt, one of the UK’s leading building services providers

Mike Lewis, CHt business unit leader, said “Having worked in engineering consultancy and product manufacturing as well as in contracting, he brings to the B&ES presidency a profound understanding of a range of professional cultures, along with an ability to build and maintain complex stakeholder relationships.”

“This is a huge honour and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to serve  and indeed champion the interests of our industry as we see increasing demand for professional services of the highest quality” said Andy.  “I will be looking to drive transformational change, through the opportunities presented by new technology, across the mechanical, electrical, public health and manufacturing sectors and supply chain, within the Laing O’Rourke group, and the wider industry”.

Andy Sneyd also represents the interests of the UK’s major building engineering services contractors on the B&ES Council.

He was elected to the presidency at the annual general meeting of the Association, which was held in London on Thursday 10 July.
