Our in-house manufacturing capability, Crown House Manufacturing (CHtM), provides a differentiated capability to deliver projects utilising the DfMA approach. CHtM is the UK’s foremost prefabricator of modular building services, providing a national capability to meet increased demands and fast track programmes.
We have a continual programme of investment in new and innovative manufacturing techniques, and, as part of the Laing O’Rourke Group, we are introducing further efficiencies in production and reducing the group’s overall environmental impact with services as integral parts of the wider construction methodology.

Using manufacturing systems in a controlled environment, we produce components of consistently high quality to a predictable schedule, leading to a dependable financial control, as well as ensuring a safer, more productive site with less congestion between trades. By its very nature, DfMA is a more sustainable method of construction, with enhanced efficiency dramatically cutting energy consumption. The use of a factory controlled environment brings significant quality benefits to the finished services, allows pre-commissioning, and provides a safer more productive environment for our staff.
